This is the week all the winners of the 2010 DD awards will be announced.

And actually, presentations will run into the next week a bit too. Five a day starting on Sept. 6th.

Out of curiosity, why so late this year? The last two time announcing seemed to have ended around the 6th.

I wanted to make sure I had time to make any presentations that didn't get finished. Normally we have back up presenters and plenty of volunteers. This year we barely made it O_O

So far there are 4 presentations not turned in. I'll PQ them today to see if I need to make them. I still need to color one for you too

Not to mention I've been VERY busy as of late in real life. So I wanted a bit of cushion in case I didn't have things set up. This will give me 1 more week to get everything prepared. And I might need the whole week!

Yeah, I was thinking that would be good. Extend the anticipation a bit.  Plus, DDers are a weekday lot it seems (at least the comic creators are).

Ahhh, but the wait is killing me, haha. Sorry for adding to your load of work @_@; I too have been insanely busy, so I know the feeling.  I think maybe you should make a thread for volunteers incase those people can't finish? I know there are other people out there who aren't so busy that can draw/ink/color/shade whatever needs to be done.

As well as the practical considerations that JNP outlined, I think we started later this year, so the total time from launch to announcements probably isn't really extended by much, if anything.

what categories go up each day?

Best Strip and Best story are always the last to be announced. Other than that it's random. Or I try to spread out categories that had a LOT of the same nominees. Like Shades for example. I try not to give too many categories that have it as a contender in a single day.
