Judges Sign In!

I'm in two categories I judged last year. We had redundancy before because we simply don't get enough volunteers. We'll try to minimize it, but as long as the panels are shuffled up some and we look only at the last year's material, it should be okay.

Changes in rules?  Good lord, there'll be a furore about that!  ;-)

P.S. I notice I currently have access to the sub-forums of al three categories I judged last year.  I assume that's a mistake?  Or have I actually been assigned to those already?

Which section is it? Because last year's boards are archived in a 2009 section.

Lol. No. It's still a rule/guideline, but there was bending last year due to the lack of volunteers. :-P And since I got put in two of the same categories, I assume it's the same this year. The line-up of comics is mostly different and I don't recall most of these comics (including the couple returning ones). It didn't even cross my mind, to be honest. Looking at them with a fresh eye and just the new material.

Keep in mind that some volunteers who take on a lot and might be willing to do so again. Excluding them from ALL the categories they judged in before would be shooting ourselves in the foot. Also, if we don't get what we need to fill out the categories, JNP (and anyone he can beg to help) will have to pick up the slack again. We can't exclude him from previous categories or we won't get anything done -- and it's probably better to allow some of the other judges to fill in at least some of those.

If the entire panel is the same, I think that would be questionable, but one or two repeats are unavoidable given the nature of the volunteers. If anyone raises cane, then I say that automatically volunteers them to judge the offending categories!

Actually I just didn't remove the permissions from last year. So when you came in you automatically had permissions. This year after it is over I'll need to remove the permissions to prevent that next year.

Hey, Locoma reporting here.
For now I'll be judging 1 category: Best Simplified Art/Stick Figure Comic. I'll judge more if I get the time.

Oh, sorry, I thought I just had to sign in I didn't mean I wanted my categories changed, I was fine doing best strip. Although I'd be happy to take on an extra category.

Also, I'd be fine with doing sprite comics since that doesn't seem too popular and I could pull three categories so I could do the two you just signed me up for and overall strip anyway.

That was my mistake. When you signed in I thought the permissions you had were from last year. Though I don't even think you judged last year XD
