Kong's Sprite Rips

Hallo. Bit late in dropping by, but here I am.

I plan to work on Kongou next, but due to time constraints, I wanna try using Kong's rips to speed things up. Just wondering if anyone can confirm that they've been properly ripped and aligned; it'd save a lot of time double-checking them manually.

Also, does anyone know Kong's policy for others using his rips? Is readme credit enough, or must we get written permission?

Hey the one that chose his own creation path is here. Whats up Doggiedoo, glad to have you here. Yes I can cofirm quite a few things on Kong as I've had to work with his rips aswell.

Kongs rips are ripped with perfect axies. You may find duplicates x3 so you may have to put sprites in order to make it a bit easier for you. They are usualy saved in .png so you will have to bulk convert them. The rips itself are good but they may give you pallete errors as I had a big issue with my pallete that I had to get somebody else to fix it up and that didn't do much. Overall they are good rips you just might run into some trouble with them but with care they should work. As far as permission Kong doesn't seem to care much about things and you don't need his permission, I asked him for it personaly, but respect should be shown nonetheless, thus I do recommend crediting him in the readme.

Kong general wants you to use his rips i mean he is kindly sharing them with the whole community. Would be kind of a wonky thing to o if he made you ask permission first; that would say a lot about him. I think readme credit is enough although i'm sure someone like himself doesn't really care, if i'm judging correctly.

Mostly from what i seen Kongs rip are perfect axis, i'm all about perfect axis.

by kongou, i can assume you mean a Red earth character? i never actuall checked the axis on those but the others seem to be ion tact, so, im assuming that the Red Eratyh rips are no difference.

Because apart from Kong I don't think anybody ripped and it seems that DD wants a shortcut right now, aint nothing wrong with that as the rips are ok, just may give a bit pallete issues.

Excellent, that makes things much faster. I'll be careful about the palette; should be ok as long as non-character sprites aren't included when the colours are compiled.
