[E] made a custom M.A.M.E where you can disables backgrounds and layers (correct key presses are required/different for each game) that you can find at Mugen Guild. Thats one way you can go about it.

I haven't seen [E] post in a while but I also haven't been keeping up with Mugen within the past few months. I know you can try to search for the emulator on MFG. You can even search for my name because the link to the emulator is in the thread I made actualy. Cheesy
