TVC Alex released
I'm not happy at all with how this year came out, to the point that I'm starting to doubt would it be really that worth it for me to carry on doing Mugen content to begin with. With that said in hopes to lift up my motivation I went to take another shot at doing The Wrestler from Street Fighter III fame, as apparently there is quite a demand for my take at the character to the point that I've seen some folks dig up my earlier attempt at the character from years ago. This time, rather than trying to outdo GM at his craft I went on using one of his lesser known appearances for inspiration. At least he'd certainly feel more like the character he's supposed to be compared to my earlier attempts I laugh at looking back.

Oh yeah, and I've also updated that one April Fools character I've released years ago under the guise of today's character.

WSMIP Budokai beta 01 released
So, the last few months have been so rough for me that I had a hard time getting myself to start a personal project of mine, so instead I've released a project I used to do with Smogon - a fellow countryman of mine - many years ago that I picked up two months ago to do a bulk of further work. This was actually Smogon's project who came up with the concept, the cast (based on his friends from his University) and drew the sprites, and I've been assigned as a coder. We were doing this project for fun, I certainly didn't take it quite seriously to the point that back in 2006-2011 I've actually sort of preferred my own personal projects to this one - doesn't help that I used to be an ambitious guy and I kept raising the bar with my own releases - which used to explain the rather slow progress, nonetheless since I've finished the Dragon Tank (which also took quite a while until I took upon that) a thought sprung into my mind to eventually finish this project and I've eventually took it upon myself (as I couldn't find a way to reach Smogon anymore, not like I expected to with Smogon himself being busy with his band) to complete what he set out to do, which required additional sprites, stages, and large changes to the code, as well as me fully embracing the silliness.

The game was meant to be a casual-oriented combo-friendly affair involving relatively simpler controls (and yet a bit of amount of depth I could cram into it) although thanks to it running on the last engine revision I could make the AI as brutal on harder difficulties as I usually do. This may not be exactly at the level of my other stuff and I'm full aware that this can be a mess at times (especially given it's a beta) but I hope it's an entertaining mess at least.

The beta currently features 9 playable characters and can be found at the emblem below the theme selector at the side. Whenever I would feel like going back to complete the game would depend on variety of factors, some of which are beyond my control, so I'd guess have fun with what's there for now.

Yeah, I've somehow felt like doing a conversion of another Survival Arts character out of the blue (like it happened the last time I did a character from the same game). This time, it's the final boss to whom I've expanded on few things in addition to all of the insane stuff he already had in the source, so be warned as I certainly like to be cruel when designing boss characters, but then again so apparently did Scarab.

Oh, and Viper have received a minor update as well.
